  • An ORI (Originating Agency Identifier) number is a unique code assigned to the agency requesting your background check. It ensures your fingerprint results are sent to the correct organization.

  • Your ORI number is provided by the agency or organization requesting your background check. If you’re unsure, contact them directly, or we can help you find it if you provide the name of the requesting organization.

  • To obtain an ORI number, contact the agency or organization requesting your background check. They will provide you with their specific ORI code to ensure your fingerprint results are sent to the correct location.

Level 2 Background Checks

  • In Florida, the scope of a Level 2 background check is not explicitly limited by time. It typically involves a comprehensive check of an individual's criminal history, including state and national records. The look-back period for offenses depends on the following:

Nature of the Check: Level 2 background checks, which involve fingerprinting and searches through databases like the FBI's National Criminal Information Center (NCIC), may include records of all arrests and convictions, regardless of how long ago they occurred.

Employer/Agency Policies: Employers or licensing agencies may have their own guidelines regarding how far back they consider criminal history (e.g., 7 years, 10 years, or lifetime).

State and Federal Regulations: Certain industries (e.g., healthcare, childcare, and education) have laws requiring lifetime checks for specific offenses (e.g., violent crimes, sexual offenses).

  • A Level 2 background check is a comprehensive screening process that includes both state and national criminal history records. It is designed to identify individuals who may pose a risk in sensitive roles, such as working with vulnerable populations. Here's what it typically shows:

Criminal History: Arrests, convictions, and any pending charges at both state and federal levels.
Disqualifying Offenses: Crimes such as sexual offenses, violent crimes, and fraud may disqualify individuals from certain positions or licenses.
Fingerprint-Based Search: Matches fingerprints against the FBI’s National Criminal Information Center (NCIC) and Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) databases.
Alias Searches: Identifies records associated with other names the individual may have used.
This type of background check is commonly required for positions in healthcare, education, law enforcement, childcare, and other industries where public safety is a priority.
