After Your Appointment
Results Delivery
Your fingerprints are submitted electronically to FDLE (and the FBI if required). Results are sent directly to the requesting agency — not to you or us.
Typical Timeline
Most results are available within 24–72 hours. Some agencies may take longer depending on their review process.
Checking Status
Use your Transaction Control Number (TCN) to check the status here: FDLE TCN Lookup.
Statuses you may see: In Progress, Completed, Rejected.
Rejected Prints
If your fingerprints are rejected due to poor quality or technical issues, FDLE will contact you and let you know.
Lost Your TCN?
Contact us first. We probably have it on file. If we can’t locate it, you may need to reach out to FDLE at (850) 410-8161.
Copy of Your Results
By law, results are only released to the requesting agency. We cannot provide you with a copy. If you need a personal copy of your background check. Go here
Before Your Appointment
What to Bring:
Valid, unexpired photo ID (driver’s license, state ID, passport) See ID Requirements if you do not have any of these forms available
ORI number or agency information
Tips for Best Prints:
Avoid hand lotion just before your appointment
Make sure fingers are clean, dry, and free of cuts or bandages. If you have sweaty hands, try to dry them out as much as possible before the appointment. If your fingerprint ridges are worn or cracked to the point where the pattern cannot be recognized, your prints have a high likelihood of being rejected. See "What to do if your prints are rejected"
