Department of Education Level 2 Background Check in Jacksonville, FL

If you work for or are applying to work for a Florida public, charter, or private school, you’re required to complete a Level 2 background check through the Florida Department of Education (DOE).
At Fingerprinting Jacksonville, we provide same-day Live Scan fingerprinting that’s electronically submitted to FDLE and the FBI, helping you stay compliant and avoid hiring delays.

Important: Fingerprinting Jacksonville unfortunately cannot serve all of the people on the list below. Your district may have a specified vendor that they have elected to use. Please check with your employer or school district to make sure before booking.

If your position is not listed here, or you’re unsure which agency oversees your screening, contact your employer or the Florida DOE before booking.

Steps to Complete Your Clearinghouse Screening

1) Your School Initiates the screening: CSomeone at your school or district office must log into the Clearinghouse Results website and initiate your background screening request.

Once they've done this, they will send you:

  • A Livescan Request Form (with your name and ORI number pre-filled)

  • A copy of the Clearinghouse Privacy Policy

 

2) Schedule your appointment: Once you’ve received your Live Scan Request Form and Privacy Policy, book your appointment with Fingerprinting Jacksonville.

3) Fingerprinting Session: Print your pre-populated Live Scan Request form from CHAI or have it available on your phone at the time of your appointment. We will issue you a TCN (Transaction Control Number) at the time of your appointment. Be sure to keep it in a safe place.
 

4) Track Your Submission: Enter your TCN at the FDLE TCN Lookup to monitor your results with FDLE. Your status in the clearinghouse may take additional time past what is shown by FLDE.

Failure to register in the CHAI system can result in delays in licensing or employment. We are not responsible for you getting registered in CHAI.

What to Bring

  • Two forms of valid photo ID (see our ID Requirements Policy)

  • Your ORI number (pre-populated on your LiveScan Request form obtained from The Florida Clearinghouse)
